Gyan Tiwary, Co-Founder & CEO

He is responsible for bringing all products to market at Luxerel along with delivery and management of multiple smart grid projects for clients worldwide. Previously from 2006 to 2013 he was a Sr. Vice President & GM of iWatt Inc -- a silicon valley based Green-tech company focused on energy efficiency and LED lighting drivers for CE markets. From 1998-2006 Gyan was the CEO of Simple Silicon Inc – a LCD Display and Power Management  technology licensing company, that was acquired by iWatt in 2006.

Previously he has held senior Marketing and Management positions at Synopsys & EPIC Design Technology for their energy management software. He was one of the earliest employees at EPIC Design, a power management software firm where he contributed to its growth from a small startup, through its IPO  and eventual buyout by Synopsys. He was also a Unit Design Manager on the Pentium-Pro (P6) product line at Intel Corporation.

Gyan has extensive expertise in the business & technology areas of Power, LED, Display & Infrastructure related Energy management. He has authored many industry publications and holds two US patents in the field of semiconductor IC design. He holds a MSEE degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.

Dr Roberto J. Siegert, PhD, Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Siegert directs Luxerel’s product implementation strategy and is responsible for overseeing the product research and development phase, as well as its implementation and associated quality control processes.

Dr. Siegert comes from leading the technical aspect of Smart Grid large-scale projects in the area of Advanced Metering Infrastructure based on different communication technologies such as Power Line Carrier, RF Mesh networks, and cellular technology. Prior to the engagement in the Smart Grid field, Dr. Siegert spent few years working in substation automation projects, and evaluating and testing of substation components, as well as protection and control systems and components, including SCADA applications at the field (RTU and IEDs) and central office level.

Dr. Siegert received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Material Science from the Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum (Germany) while working in research and development at the Germany’s most prestigious Research Institute – Forschungszentrum Juelich -. The core of his research was focused in the material processing and synthesis of nano-structured coatings and functional layers used in high temperatures applications such as turbine blades and solid-oxide fuel-cells, as well as other applications such as the thermal spraying of photovoltaic modules and composite parts among others. The research work derived in a few patents accepted worldwide.

Sam Shi,  VP of Business Development

Sam has over 25 years of industry experience in product definition and business development of new technology particularly in Greater China and Latin America regions. He specializes in launch of new business projects around new and emerging technologies.

He has held senior management positions at Siemens Energy where he was responsible for the development and management of infrastructure projects. Earlier he was at Sinergy Corp. Sam has an MSEE & an MBA from NJIT.
